OUR DAILY BREAD
HIS PURPOSE IN YOU.
Galatians 2:8
For God, who was at work in Peter as an apostle to the circumcised, was also at work in me as an apostle to the Gentiles.
Children of God sometimes declare that “Christ in me the hope of Glory Colossians 1:27”. But I believe that the effectiveness of this proclamation depends on this question; how is Christ in me? and what is His purpose in me? The answer will help us to partner with him for glorious results.
In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit came upon certain people to empower them for service and leave after the purpose was achieved. But in our dispensation, believers in Christ have God dwelling in them permanently in the form of His Spirit and this is a mystery.
When we read Galatians 2, Apostle Paul acknowledged the grace behind Peter's successful ministry and connected to that grace. He said in Galatians 2:8 our opening verse “For God, who was at work in Peter as an apostle to the circumcised, was also at work in me as an apostle to the Gentiles.” God was at work in him in the form of the holy spirit.
Thus, we must know that Christ in us is for a purpose and this must be achieved. The Bible said Paul aspired to lay hold of Christ’s purpose on him, this morning there is a purpose of Christ in you, pursue it in the word, avoid distraction and open up to His spirit inside you, and refuse self-centeredness.
For as God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself so He is now in you to reconcile your friends, family, and people around you to himself. 2 Corinthians 5:19-20.
