HIS MERCY NEVER FAILS

OUR DAILY BREAD

Bible Verse - Ezekiel 36:9-10

I am concerned for you and will look on you with favour; you will be ploughed and sown, and I will cause many people to live on you—yes, all of Israel. The towns will be inhabited, and the ruins are rebuilt. Amen.

In Hebrews 12:2, the Bible says 'looking unto Jesus, the author, and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God, to intercede on our behalf, so, our hope, trust, and faith may rest on him for our success. This was the plan of God for his covenant nation Israel in the old.

The nation Israel thought their hopes and expectations were over, and God had abandoned them. Those left thought their lives were meaningless due to the wickedness of Babylon’s attack that left them hopeless.

However, God demonstrated his love and mercy to them as it's written in Psalm 30:5 saying, 'For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favour lasts a lifetime.' Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. In our opening verse, God assured them, through Prophet Ezekiel, that Israel will be restored to her land and blessed under the leadership of King David.

Irrespective of their flaws, misdeeds, and shortcomings, God was merciful to them. This morning, what are you going through in life? David, in Psalm 121 said, 'I will lift up my eyes to the mountains where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of Heaven and Earth.

In Romans 8:32, statled that, 'He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?' This is the mercy of God that gives believers certainty in Christ Jesus thus have faith in him.
