DECLARATION
Luke 18:1
Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
Many people including some believers spearhead opposition against prayers with the help of social media boasting their campaign for people to believe prayer is less important and unnecessary. But the question is, how did Jesus' three years of ministry impact the world and it's still saving and impacting people's life until His return?
It's the power of His prayers. The Bible says in Mark 1:35, "Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed." Luke 3:21 "When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as He was praying, heaven was opened."
Jesus was a man of his word as he taught people, and also put it into practice. This compelled the disciples to plead with him to teach them how to pray.
Also, Apostle Paul observed Jesus’ prayer life when he got converted and wrote in 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 "pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
Prayer was Jesus’ weapon for a successful ministry. Before he got out of the program, he spent hours in a secret place praying to his Father for more grace as a result that his ministry was remarkable. Prayer makes people acknowledge the favored wisdom of God in their lives. On one occasion, Jesus told the disciples in Matthew 17:21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.
Jesus disciplined himself in prayers and fasting. Today you are a beneficiary of that prayer in John 17. Thus, we have to learn from him with discipline and commitment as tools to enable us as believers to have a successful prayer life and study the word. Never allow people's mentality and philosophy about prayer to influence you, rather be influenced by Christ’s attitude toward prayer.
May God help you.
